Now Pondicherry wants Karnataka to release water

With Karnataka  barely being able to manage the demands of Tamil Nadu on the Carvery water sharing issue,  Pondicherry has now sought its share of water too. On Tuesday, Pondicherry asked Karnataka to release 1,000 cusecs of water immediately. Pondicherry states that all the water that is being released is going into the Mettur dam, which is utilized by Tamil Nadu.Karnataka, however, has remained non committal on the latest demand. It is busy dealing with Tamil Nadu for the moment. It had told the Supreme Court that it is in no position to release anymore water and had even stopped the release of water to Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu found this violative of the order and has decided to file a contempt petition against Karnataka. On Pondicherry's demand Karnataka has the same answer, that there is no water to release.
